The Importance of a Mentor/Coach in your life

Hey my friends... I hope life is going wonderful for you this moment. You know I look back at all the amazing mentors and coaches that I had in my life in my walk with Jesus. Do you have a mentor or coach in your life? It can be Youth Pastor, Church Leader, or someone you look up to. This time, I want to express on how important it is to have a mentor/coach in your life and also give you some tips on finding a strong, biblically sound man/woman to fill that role in your life.

I think that one of the most key people in your life (besides mom and dad) will be your life mentor/coach (if mom and dad have not already filled that role). We all need to be sharpened and coached from time to time and we all want to have someone to ask for advice. That is where the coach comes in.

Some of the greatest teams in the world didn't enter the battlefield or the arena without a coach guiding them on their way to victory. For me personally, I have some of the most awesomeous mentors/coaches that anybody can ask for in this game called 'Christian Life' and 'Youth Ministry'. But can I say, learn as much as you can from your mentors/coaches in your life.
Learn as much you can! I think that the more you learn and listen from some of the veterans of ministry or this thing called Christianity... the less likely you will not be doing the same mistakes they did. Will you mess up, of course but mentors/coaches will be there for you to better prepare you on this thing.
So friends... I pray that you will find a mentor/coach that is going to be a friend and more of a coach/mentor with the heart of Christ beaming out of them
until next time... love you guys

MC Experience :: Atlanta Edition

Well the MCATL Family and I wrapped up one of the biggest MC experiences in this Master's History. We had about 75students here @thetabernacle. Just like my experience last year, I was having a little ride down memory lane and God just showed me all of the start of my journey @mcatl. This year, I felt God was ripping my heartstrings and that the presence of God was thick in that event that no one could have not ignore it.

For those who know me, that my heart's signature is Family. Also that I am a very loving guy. Dude, my heart was screaming family to me all this weekend. Like I felt a joy and weepingness (new word...lol) in such a intense way. From Oxygen last Wednesday to Chapel from yesterday, love and intense worship was like the pillars for this experience. Also just want to shout out to all of my MCATL Family... you guys killed it!!! This was the best Experiences that I know our students would want to tell their friends about whenever they get back home about the friendships and the life-change that they encountered at MCATL. So kudos to my phenomenal MC Family. MC....ATL!!!!

I want to spiell on my AC Family 'The Ginos'. I know I have the best most phenomenal family in all of MCATL. Not because if we are the fastest, strongest, most daring, or all of that. I have the most amazing family is because we love each other authentically as a family. I know I have a family that will call me out and that will be able to coach me no matter what. Also that we are not afraid to push out of our comfort zones and that we are that kind of family.

So I guess you noticed that I talked about family alot in this post... thats because I live it, breath it, my heart screams for it as for my spirit. You know I think about... I want part of my legacy to be that I was a family-kind of guy. As a wrap-up... Life here is amazing and it keeps amazin' me daily. So until next time... I love you brother and sister. Keep Pursuing Christ.

>dream birth

Jeremiah 29.11 // For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

Some of you are saying, "Dream Birth, what in the world is he saying?" We all have dreams... and all of them are from God. For me, every time i get a huge dream or plan. I get it in my stomach and it feels like I am pregnant with a baby in me. During the duration of the birth... the dream gets bigger and bigger as time goes by (think about as a baby grows in the womb).

Thats the same way with people today (i.e. High School Seniors, Pastors, Leaders, etc.) We all have big dreams that we want to see happen one day, but with the dream we have to put in and build to the team.

One of my biggest dreams is to have a very successful youth ministry. For over past 5years, i have planned and planned and prayed over this dream and I can't wait until this dream finally is birthed and the dream becomes a reality.

Dreams can be short-term or long-term depending on how big the dream is. But the real question is... 'is the dream God-breathed?' Cause the thing with God-breathed dreams is that you have the hand and spirit of the Lord Jesus over your dream and making your dream real.

So, what are you dreaming?...

Extreme Blessing :: Operation Blessing

I know for the past few weeks I have not posted anything on my blog... that because I was busy blessing people and I loved it. But let's get down to what I want to talk about.

Last week, people from Rockford Master Commission and Master Commission Atlanta partnered with Operation Blessing (Disaster Relief Program with 700 Club / CBN) and did their version of Extreme Makeover called 'Extreme Blessing'. For 4days... we renovated four homes for four families that was affected by the Atlanta Flood back in September.

Let me say that I felt honored to be a part of Extreme Blessing... that I got to go and bless some family and make a small impact on their lives. We stayed at a small baptist church (I forgot the name). I got to talk to a couple of my RMC brothers and they are soo awesome. At the same time, I got sooo close to my MCATL brothers in such a radical way... it was ridiculous and I love my boys sooo much.

But the Saturday (Reveal Day), was the greatest day out of the whole week. Whenever the families came back and saw their houses... man were they excited. At the same time, we (RMC and MCATL students) were blessed that we got to bless other people that we don't know and we have a small part in their homes that will be there forever. Oh, how I love blessing other people.

Setting a New Standard

So this week at Master's we have been talking about Brotherhood and Sisterhood in a mighty way and I am going to be real and upfront with you.

*Disclaimer This special entry is for men only. Sorry ladies... this time is just for the boys.

Men, let's be real for minute! God has called us to be the leaders and the provider of our families and of the church. What hurts me the most is that we have men who still wants to act like little boys and not wanting to man-up to their responsibilities that they have.

God commanded us to be the piercers and the women to be the pierced and that some that is lacking in the church a whole lot. THAT IS NOT WHAT GOD WANTS!!!!! God made Adam before Eve. Kinda give the idea that God intended for the men to be the head and the leaders. But sadly, women are taking the role of leadership in the church (and that is not a bad thing... cause some of the greatest leaders are women). But understand in the home... men, you are authority over your wife and children (yes, it's biblical). And that you need to get off your lazy butts and be the leader and not the cheater or partier or whatever.

Here is where I get deep and heartfelt about this...

The brotherhood and the males of the church. You are the epicenter of your family, church, youth group, etc. (spiritually). Your wife / mother, sister, whoever is not called to be the spiritual authority in the home. You the husband / father, brother... God commanded you to run His church the way that is was made. Also be the spiritual leaders in the relationship.

What sickens me the most is that there are children who are fatherless and that they expect someone else to take care of the pieces. And it don't work that way.

So for closing on this thing. Men, I have one thing to say to you for those who are lazy and not wanting to take responsibility... GROW -UP AND BE A MAN!!!!!!!!
